Synopsis
Chenzhou was a key stronghold at the entrance to Po Jun Valley in the Two Wolves Mountains, the only passage between the Longzuo Dynasty and the Naxi Kingdom. A hundred years ago, Shen Si, hailed as “the greatest astrologer in history,” gazed at the steep, rugged mountains, sighed, and pronounced them a Sha Po Lang configuration.
As the Naxi Kingdom grew stronger, it repeatedly sought to march south and annex the Longzuo Dynasty, whose glittering exterior concealed its gradual decline. Yet the Naxi never dared to cross the Two Wolves Mountains. They did not believe in the southerners’ astrology, but they had their own object of worship: the Sky Wolf God. The Two Wolves Mountains and the Sky Wolf God made Chenzhou the focal point of the two nations’ struggle.
