There is a shop in this world.
It has no fixed address and belongs to no world.
Some people open its door on the brink of death. Some hear its call in the depths of despair. Others search all their lives and never catch a glimpse of it.
The shopkeeper is a merchant.
He sells strange wares, buys secrets, and accepts all kinds of deals.
Some want the dead brought back to life. Some long for power that places them above all others. Some hope to change a fate already set in stone. And some only want to live one more day in the darkness to come.
As long as they can pay the price, he will consider the deal.
Lifespan, memories, emotions, desires...
Some things have a clear price. Others are so precious that even those trading them do not know their true worth.
The merchant never urges people to be good, and rarely interferes with his customers' choices.
He simply sits behind the counter, watching people enter the shop with wishes and leave with the fates that await them.
He has seen people betray their own kin to stay alive, and others willingly die to keep a promise.
He has seen villains who speak constantly of virtue, and people burdened with guilt who never give up on kindness.
Across countless worlds, everyone has something they seek.
He is only responsible for making the deals.
No one knows that this seemingly all-knowing merchant was once an ordinary person, too.
Long ago, he also held a wish he could not let go of.
To obtain what he wanted, he gave up a part of himself.
Since then, he has continued to live, remember the past, and speak with others.
But there are things he can never feel as he once did.
Gradually, he forgot sadness, forgot fear, and even began to forget why he had made that deal in the first place.
Later, he came to own a shop.
From then on, he traveled between worlds and bore witness to all living beings.
He thought that if he saw enough people and experienced enough deals, he could recover the part of himself he had lost.
Strange things never cease across the myriad worlds.
Every wish has a price, and every deal may leave behind a regret that can never be repaid.
And the merchant sitting behind the counter is still searching for what he lost.
He just doesn't know yet:
When he finally finds the part of his humanity that went missing, will he be met with redemption, or a deal even crueler than the one he made all those years ago?
Welcome to the Myriad Worlds' Lost Pact.
“So, customer.
What will you trade for your wish?”
