In the 1940s, she was a blade hidden in the heart of enemy territory, while he was a physician burdened by his family's sins.
A Yuan returned from Nagasaki covered in wounds and secrets, only to be swept into the darkest whirlpool of Shanghai. To rescue her comrades from prison, she and A Huang, disguised as a doctor, played a deadly game in Hongkou Prison. But the Special Higher Police pursued them relentlessly, and a harrowing escape by sea bound their fates together in blood and fire.
When the cargo ship sank in the dead of night and trust crumbled under the threat of gunfire, A Yuan dreamed of the cold blade on the operating table, a nightmare she couldn't escape. On a deserted island and along the long road to Yan'an, A Huang drove away her fear with his warmth.
This is not only a struggle to break through in the name of faith, but also a love story about saving each other amid despair. When the pomegranates ripen, their color is that of blood, but also of hope reborn.
