In the Spirit Realm, the path of cultivation is fraught with hardship, and the hierarchy is rigid. Kai Zi comes from a humble background, but through sheer perseverance and extraordinary talent, he begins to stand out on his path to immortality.
During a training expedition, Kai Zi accidentally stumbles into a mysterious ruin filled with deadly mechanisms and ferocious demons. Relying on his superb swordsmanship and keen intellect, he explores its depths. Meanwhile, Ling Yue enters the ruin in search of an ancient treasure of the Fox Clan. The two start off as enemies but soon join forces.
After leaving the ruin, Kai Zi heads to a prestigious sect to study and grow stronger. He faces discrimination there because of his origins, but his excellent performance attracts the attention of Elder Xuan Feng. The elder secretly teaches him profound techniques, helping him overcome his difficulties.
Elsewhere, Mo Chen pursues his enemies across the land to avenge his family. During a clash between the righteous and the wicked, Kai Zi and his companions encounter him. Kai Zi admires Mo Chen's swordsmanship and determination to take revenge, while Mo Chen is drawn to Kai Zi's sense of justice and joins their group.
As they grow stronger, Kai Zi and the others learn of a great danger lurking in the Spirit Realm: an ancient demon god is about to awaken. To save the realm, they set out to find a way to seal it away. Along the way, they face opposition from various factions, including an evil organization coveting the demon god's power and conservative forces afraid that the group will upset the balance of the Spirit Realm.
In the face of countless obstacles, Kai Zi uses his leadership skills to unite the team. Ling Yue confounds their enemies with her powers of enchantment and illusion, Mo Chen cuts through every obstacle with his fierce blade, and Elder Xuan Feng draws on his deep reserves of knowledge to devise strategies. In the end, with the help of the Spirit Realm's various factions, they find the divine weapon and method needed to seal the demon god and save the realm. Kai Zi also fulfills his dream of breaking down the barriers between social classes and making the path to cultivation easier for ordinary people.
