A summoning spell doesn't always call forth a demon. Sometimes it brings an ordinary person from another world, a hero.
Zhuo Li, an ordinary person, was summoned to another world by a black mage.
To survive in this new world, he became the black mage's follower. But just after an accident separated them, other locals immediately took him in, and a prophet announced to everyone:
"Hero chosen by fate, go defeat the Demon King and save the world!"
Zhuo Li: A hero? Me? I'm supposed to fight the Demon King?
Zhuo Li turned around and saw the black mage, a Demon King in the making, standing in the shadows, staring at him expressionlessly. "You're the hero?"
Zhuo Li: ...You've got to be kidding me.
He'd rather not get involved in defeating the Demon King. But if it meant staying with the esteemed black mage, he could live with that.
