[A First-Love Story in Qingdao]
A spirited, gentle girl and an easygoing, cool guy
The summer Chi Zao turned eighteen, the family graves sent up smoke, though not because of her college entrance exams.
It was because their hometown was being demolished.
After the exams, her parents hurried back to deal with it. The family had booked a tour long ago, but someone swooped in and took the spot. It went to the person in the family with the most free time.
Her friends had always told her Qingdao was a wonderfully romantic city, perfect for a love story with a boyfriend someday.
Chi Zao never expected that before she found a boyfriend, Qingdao would find her first.
Who could have guessed that, on her way with a senior tour group to a perfect sunset in Qingdao, she would first run into You Yi, suitcase in hand?
-
You Yi hadn't expected it either.
His friend had sworn they would make sure he was comfortable and send him off to clear his head.
He wasn't sure about the comfortable part.
All he knew was that the little tail following him around had ruined his plans for some peace and quiet.
You Yi was helpless. "There's no point in us getting too close. We'll have to part sooner or later."
Chi Zao was just as confused. "I wasn't planning to."
He had firmly resolved to keep his distance, but somewhere along the way, the little tail had moved ahead, leaving him to clean up her messes behind her.
After much soul-searching, You Yi called his friend. "I've changed. I've become a hopeless pushover."
Everything was ruined.
His friend didn't believe him. "Really?"
You Yi said, "I can't bring myself to turn her down."
His friend laughed. "Then come back. I'll book you a ticket."
You Yi hung up without expression.
What nonsense.
"I can't bring myself to turn her down."
