Synopsis
Warnings first:
The author read Harry Potter as a child.
This work is extremely likely to be out of character. The outline was also written when I was a child and has since been revised, so the characterizations may differ from the original.
The female lead breaks the law: she makes illegal Portkeys by hand, uses a bunch of wands and the Confundus Charm to throw people off, and robs Death Eaters in the black market.
The female lead isn't very nice to the Marauders or Snape in his everyday life. She's like an old teacher who can't stand any of the disruptive students.
The protagonist is somewhat cold and detached, and her views on romance, marriage, and having children don't fit in (this is important, because the female lead will be stronger than the men).
Several male characters have unrequited feelings for the female lead.
In her previous life, the female lead was a powerful senior civil servant, a middle-aged professor who led research projects, and a military strategy adviser. She is not a paragon of virtue. Instead, she is ruthless, underhanded, and highly pragmatic.
She tends to look down on others and feels compelled to instruct them.
The female lead has a tiny bit of cultivation talent, but her golden finger is very weak. She mainly uses magic.
(More warnings to be added...)
In short, you can already tell I love dancing in the danger zone! The story itself may have other pitfalls, so read at your own risk! Read at your own risk!
Synopsis:
A haughty, sharp-tongued master eighth-grade fitter dies of illness and is reborn as Windsor, a British-Chinese half-blood witch.
×
Barty Crouch Jr., a madman of great talent, relentlessly oppressed by his father.
The female lead is in Hufflepuff (she wants some peace and quiet while Voldemort is rampant).
Windsor opens her eyes and suddenly realizes she's alive again.
The good news: she's healthy and still has the memories of her previous life.
The bad news: as a newborn, all she can do is eat and sleep. The workaholic is moved to tears.
She finally makes it to three and a half, old enough to do something, when her mother dies unexpectedly. Her scumbag father runs off with his lover and their money, and Windsor is bundled up by the staff and sent to live with her aunt.
Who knew her aunt would be even more "unusual"!
After spending half a day thinking things over and trying to process her situation, Windsor finally suffers a magical meltdown from exhausting her magic.
When she wakes up in a bed at St. Mungo's, she finally realizes where she's ended up.
So this is the British Wizarding World...
"If only I'd known, I wouldn't have listened to that Harry Potter fanfic my student sent me before I died."
"Is this ramshackle world really somewhere I should get involved...?"
Windsor keeps praying that she'll grow up safely and return to her homeland. But when she finally does grow up, she discovers to her horror that she can't leave the regions where the main story takes place.
"Could I be stuck here because Harry Potter hasn't stabbed Voldemort to death?"
"Voldemort can hide out in Albania, but I'm stuck in the UK? Who the hell could put up with this?!"
To help Harry defeat Voldemort sooner and carry out her grand plan to return home, she decides to poach some of the few Death Eaters around the Dark Lord who have brains.
[Severus Snape]
[Regulus Black]
[Abraxas Malfoy]
[Barty Crouch Jr.]
After counting for a while, Windsor can't help but marvel: Voldemort really has nobody working for him.
Even this old lady, who died before finishing the original books, can't think of anyone else she could poach.
"Well, what kind of decent talent can a terrorist organization recruit?" Windsor can't help but quip.
A note about Barty Crouch Jr.'s characterization:
My characterization leans toward the original books. (I'm not saying David Tennant isn't handsome. He and Voldemort scared the daylights out of me when I watched the movies as a kid, but there's no denying he's good-looking.) Anyway, I prefer book Barty. At first, he'll seem rather gentle, even timid, but deep down he's crazy and will stir up trouble on the sly. He's a high-energy genius who's been held back.
(PS: Barty is still underage here and hasn't committed any unforgivable crimes.)
You can refer to the picture I drew. I added freckles and messy hair based on the books, and the drooping eyes and long, drooping eyebrows are my own additions (I got carried away shipping them and lost all restraint).
The author can't treat every character fairly and impartially. Everyone has their favorites, and I can't remember a lot of the details I read as a child anymore. Please bear with me.
The female lead is an aggressive, motherly professor (she openly embraces being the bad guy) who takes aim at everyone equally.
Theme: Who is Windsor's favorite student?
