In 2014, eighteen-year-old Yun Yaoyao arrived in Seoul early, ready to begin college.

Her plans were simple: go to school, follow her favorite stars, write, and somehow meet her beloved Byun Baekhyun, who seemed a world away.

Then one day, a distant cousin whose exact relation to her was lost somewhere in the family tree showed up at her door.

"The company is looking to expand into China and needs a Chinese teacher."

Yun Yaoyao: "?"

She was just a high school graduate about to start college.

Her cousin: "It's part-time, and we can negotiate the pay."

Yun Yaoyao: "No."

"You'd get to meet idols."

"...EXO?"

"BTS."

"Never heard of them."

Her cousin finally lost patience. "They're at the same TV station as Byun Baekhyun today!"

And so, BTS, who had just released a new album and were in the middle of their comeback promotions, gained a strange new Chinese teacher.

She was quiet, aloof, and polite, with thick bangs covering her eyes. She seemed completely uninterested in them.
