[Quirky, sweet-faced, secretly cunning little fairy plant × Truly abstinent, cool, pure-hearted little Daoist]
Chong'a Mountain is famous throughout the land, and it's home to many handsome Daoist priests.
The young cultivator Yan Weiyu is one of the very best, a highly promising talent on the path of cultivation.
The handsome Daoist, who cultivates the Supreme Way of Heartlessness, has become the dream lover of countless women. So many of them have come up the mountain to see him that they're close to knocking down the gates.
He remains unmoved, but a little girl clings to him relentlessly. "You brute! You've ruined me!"
He has no idea how he offended this willful girl. He can't dodge her or get away.
But why is his heart suddenly beating so fast when he's always been the one most faithful to the rules and precepts?
He keeps giving way, yet can't help indulging her in secret.

When they first met in the mortal world, she resented the little Daoist for destroying a thousand years of her cultivation, but fell for the cool, noble bearing of his reincarnation at first sight.
She says one thing and means another. Day after day, she deliberately provokes him in the name of revenge, clinging to him at every turn. She ruthlessly drives off every woman around him and obsessively monopolizes his attention.
After all, what could a harmless, innocent little Daoist possibly do to fight back?

He's practicing calligraphy by lamplight. She watches his elegant profile and puts on a serious face. "There's ink on your face."
He looks up, unsuspecting, and turns his head slightly.
She quickly leans in and pecks him on the cheek. With a sly smile, she turns to flee, but he suddenly grabs her wrist and pulls her back, drawing her straight into his arms.
He lowers his eyes to her flushed cheeks, then lets his gaze fall to her lips. With a soft laugh, he says, "I thought you were a much bolder little demon."

When they reunite for the third time, he is her master and senses that she is burdened by a fated karmic debt. But no matter how deeply he delves into the secrets of Heaven, he cannot work out that he himself created the debt.
Consumed by rage, she falls to the demon path and obsessively forces him to bow his head, to face his feelings. He considers his Daoist heart unshakable, but in that moment, he is utterly defeated.
At last, he understands. All his life, he had thought he was cultivating his heart, but he had never been cultivating the Great Dao. He had been cultivating for her.
When the dust settles, a thousand-year-old secret is revealed in full:
"Fate is hard to defy. I wronged you, and in the end, I couldn't save you."
