At fourteen, Elia Sokolov walked into Milanello for the first time. Back then, he was just a winger who knew how to chase the ball. He was fast, had great stamina, wasn't afraid to fall, and didn't know when to stop.
Tassotti watched him play a few matches, then told him to play right back.
Everything began there.
He learned positioning and defense; when to make a run forward and when to stay back; and how to play at the San Siro.
People came and went around him. Some taught him how to play football, some taught him about life, and some took him home for Christmas.
