Two-year age gap
They meet on an anonymous online app. After chatting for half a month, they exchange photos and meet in person, spending a night tangled up together.
After one night together, dog trainer Su Ye falls in love with Lin Zhixu at first sight.
The trouble is, they move in completely different circles. Su Ye loves to have fun and go out drinking. Lin Zhixu spends every day working, then goes home to her dog, occasionally meeting friends for a meal.
Su Ye assumes they won't cross paths again.
But then the piano tuner she hires turns out to be Lin Zhixu.
That day, Su Ye happens to be training a dog. Lin Zhixu comes downstairs after the piano is tuned and sees her. Thinking of the lively, energetic little dog Cotton at home, Lin Zhixu gets a headache.
So she asks, "Miss Su, do you train dogs?"
After Su Ye confirms she does, Lin Zhixu is more than happy to hand the puppy over to her.
Every morning, Su Ye makes breakfast for Lin Zhixu. She takes care of her when she's sick, helps her open up about what's on her mind, picks her up after work, and takes her out to have fun.
When Su Ye thinks Lin Zhixu has fallen in love with her, she confesses, but Lin Zhixu turns her down.
Su Ye doesn't give up. When they take the puppy on a trip together, she confesses again, and Lin Zhixu rejects her once more.
Su Ye asks Lin Zhixu to tell her why, to speak honestly about her feelings, but Lin Zhixu's excuse is always the same:
"Let me think about it a little longer. I don't think the timing is right yet."
After the trip, Su Ye feels unsettled. As soon as they get off the plane, she makes an excuse about work and leaves the city they live in together.
Lin Zhixu messages Su Ye every day, but Su Ye never replies.
Then, two months later, Lin Zhixu sees Su Ye again and demands to know why she hasn't replied all this time. Su Ye tells her:
"Every time I saw your message, I wondered whether I should reply. But I didn't think the timing was right, so I didn't."
Happy ending. Later, the pursuer gets put through the wringer. One-on-one romance.
