[A seemingly proper, secretly flirtatious, dependable doctor top x a seemingly cheerful, sensitive, pitiful artist bottom]
A lover's tears may be the most bitter water in the world.
Miao Yi lay in a pool of blood, tasting Pu Liaokong's tears for the first time in his life.
Looking back on the first half of their lives, Miao Yi felt he owed Pu Liaokong far, far too much.
In middle school, when Miao Yi was at his most willful and difficult, Pu Liaokong followed him around every day, doing whatever he asked. He fetched water, wiped desks, helped with classroom duties, bought him meals, kept him company, and helped him with homework. He was attentive in every possible way.
Even so, Miao Yi enjoyed teasing this honest boy.
At a gathering after the college entrance exams, Miao Yi deliberately egged Pu Liaokong on to drink, wanting to see him make a fool of himself when drunk. But instead, Pu Liaokong pinned him down and kissed him soundly.
That was the first time Miao Yi had shot himself in the foot. He fled in a panic, only to stumble upon the sordid affair between his father and a male executive.
Miao Yi had lit the fuse with his own hands. Chaos, violence, tangled blood ties, and struggles for money and power blew his glittering youth to pieces all at once.
In just a few days, Miao Yi was so distraught that when Pu Liaokong came to apologize, he dragged his broken leg over to the window and hurled everything within reach at him, along with a string of insults.
“Disgusting! You sick queer! Pervert! Get away from me! I never want to see you again! Get out! Get out!”
Pu Liaokong was still obedient. He left.
They parted ways and didn't see each other again for fifteen years.
When Miao Yi finally struggled out of the mud and found time to think carefully about that youthful romance, the words “I'm sorry” had been stuck in his throat for years.
When they met again, Miao Yi was bedridden and down on his luck, while Pu Liaokong stood by the bed in a white coat, his face cold. He had become Miao Yi's attending physician.
Miao Yi was terrified that he would take revenge, but then he noticed a silver ring he'd made himself on the doctor's hand, worn on his ring finger.
Years of guilt and regret drove Miao Yi to draw closer to Pu Liaokong and rekindle their relationship.
But just as their happiness was at its height, the danger left unresolved from their youth returned. Pu Liaokong watched Miao Yi collapse in front of him, tears pouring from his eyes.
Miao Yi wanted to say “I'm sorry” again.
I'm sorry. I don't want to die just when we're most in love, either.
“I'm sorry. I dragged you into this again.”
P.S. I'm a blurb liar. This story is actually bittersweet with a happy ending, and lightly supernatural elements are woven throughout. Don't worry, I don't write pure tragedies. The side couple is a devoted spouse paired with a mad dog!
P.P.S. The whole story is already written, so new readers can dive in with confidence!
Please leave lots of comments, don't fight, and feel free to point out mistakes!
I hope we can grow together. Thank you!
Additional note: Some readers have said the top's name is a little unusual. That's because he was a monk in his previous life, named Liaokong. His past life won't be explored in detail in this story. I may write a separate book about it someday, probably as a series of standalone stories featuring the past lives of Miao Yi and Liaokong. If people want to read about it, I might also add a little in a bonus chapter.

[Orange Candy] Dr. Pu laughed to death when I tried it. He is jealous and has no status. When will the status be issued?
I suspect this man was distracted while driving, but I can't find any evidence. What should I do?
I can't help but laugh, it's so funny
