In the Northern Sea there is a fish called Kun. The Kun is so vast that no one knows how many thousands of miles it spans.
Yu Xiaoliu is an utterly ordinary fish.
A little fish that had swum in a clear pool for nearly a thousand years was sent by secret decree from the Demon Emperor to infiltrate the gates of Fuyun Xuan Sect. The mission was simple: go undercover, find out what was going on, stay alive, and don't get caught.
That was what she planned to do.
Then she knelt before Yun Gui.
The elder who had been in seclusion for a thousand years had chosen her as her sole personal disciple.
Yu Xiaoliu thought: It's over. She's seen through me.
Then she thought: Wait... it seems like nothing's happened to me.
Yun Gui taught her swordsmanship, bending her fingers into position with each stroke. Yun Gui brought her medicine, then said she couldn't remember doing so. Yun Gui would wait for her in the dim light just before dawn, dressed in white as pure as snow, her features cool and distant. When she looked at Yu Xiaoliu, her gaze was as still as a winter lake.
Little by little, Yu Xiaoliu forgot why she had come.
She remembered only one thing. Her master had said, "I don't care where the water comes from. Once it flows to me, it's mine. But there's one thing: don't let it turn murky."
She thought, Then I won't turn murky.
Yun Gui accepted Yu Xiaoliu because the aura around her was too pure. So pure it seemed not to belong in this world.
She didn't know what it was, only that the aura was ancient, as old as the first snowfall when heaven and earth were created.
She simply felt that this little fish shouldn't die at someone else's hands.
Cool and aloof master × disciple in disguise
"Don't be afraid. Your master is here."
"I like you... Yun Gui."
---After parting, I remember our meeting, and how often I shared dreams with you.
---White sleeves, no words, flowers falling of their own accord; untouched by frost and snow, the moon shines on forever.
