Synopsis
Outwardly inconsistent, inwardly scheming top x frivolous, clever beauty bottom
Blurb (or perhaps you could also consider it part of the main text?)
The day Shen Mingyue tossed a poem from a tower at the current emperor's behest, he took just one look and settled on the talented Wei Qingfeng. He guided him into the world of officialdom and watched him rise through the ranks.
Things did not stay rosy for long. Wei Qingfeng's unrestrained tongue made him a target of suspicion for various factions, and he was framed for plotting rebellion and thrown in prison. Interrogation yielded nothing, and he was about to be beaten to death.
Just as Wei Qingfeng, utterly despairing, waited for death, the prison gates opened.
To his surprise, the jailer who came was not the executioner, but Shen Mingyue, who had teased him on the tower from the very start.
Shen Mingyue used the folding fan he carried with him to lift Wei Qingfeng's chin. Narrowing his eyes, he looked him over, and, seeing that he was still responsive, let out a sigh of relief. "Nanzhou, want to join me in plotting a rebellion?"
"Your life shouldn't end here."
"If you're willing, I want you to follow me for the rest of your life. So give your life to me here and now. Let's overthrow this man-eating court and restore peace and prosperity to the realm."
PS:
1. A strong x strong, 1v1 historical danmei political intrigue novel with a happy ending. The setting draws inspiration from the Tang and Song dynasties, and the complete story is expected to be 1.2 million characters long.
2. I'll try to update every other day, w.
3. Besides the main couple, there is also a secondary couple, and they're danmei too.
4. This is my first time writing something this long, so I might not get the pacing quite right.
5. The main characters' names:
Shen Mingyue (Shen Qiuyu) x Wei Qingfeng (Wei Nanzhou)
Wei is the top, Shen is the bottom. The top is younger than the bottom.
Thanks for reading! (≧∇≦)
A little recommendation for my friend's new novel _(:з"∠)_
Title: The Wind Lantern Shines on the Night, Near the Third Watch. Author: Huan Gua Liu Yao
Blurb:
Everyone knows that Tong Wushu, the Great Yan's foremost god of war in the west, has never lost a battle in his fourteen years of military service.
What they don't know is that this young general is a lazybones whose favorite pastime is curling up in his tent to read danmei stories starring himself. In the story, titled The Banished Palace, he and his incompatible adopted nephew, Mu Guan, love each other desperately and even plan to elope. Tong Wushu scoffs: As if.
Until the Battle of Longtai, when the story's line, "This battle is doomed to be lost," comes true.
Fifty thousand soldiers marched to their deaths; eight thousand broken corpses returned home. Grand Commandant Chen died in battle, Colonel Zhao died in battle, General Dong died in battle. Only he survived, branded a traitor who had colluded with the Northern Rong.
On the day he returned to the capital, the Prince of Jian, who used to trail after him calling him Uncle, had become the lofty new emperor. Mu Guan's crown beads swayed as he looked at Tong Wushu with eyes cold enough to see a dead man.
Tong Wushu thought he was in for a thousand cuts.
Who could have guessed that the seemingly refined emperor would dismiss everyone else, pin him against the imperial throne, and grit his teeth with red-rimmed eyes? "Uncle, you must stay by My side and use your life to investigate the deaths of those eight thousand at Longtai... And as for what's written in that story, since you've read it, you must act out every word of it for Me, without leaving anything out."
Sharp-tongued, refined scoundrel beauty top x romantic war god, shameless bottom
