He Jingxing raised an eyebrow and tilted his head to look at her eyes beneath the brim of her cap. "What if I throw in the extra double portion of ham I gave you? Is that enough?"
The woman gave a soft snort. Her wooden chopsticks reached into He Jingxing's plastic takeout box, and right under his nose, she picked up a rice noodle roll and popped it into her mouth. "Barely."
He simply watched her take a rice noodle roll from his box, his expression unchanged. "Fine, barely enough. Time to flip the coin, regular customer."
She swallowed the rice noodle roll, then took another from his box before pinching the coin between her fingertips and flipping it onto the table. "Which side are you betting on?"
"Tails."
The woman lifted her finger. The side with the design was facing up.
He Jingxing pressed his tongue against the inside of his cheek and drawled, "I lose. A bet's a bet. Take off your cap."
She stuffed another of his rice noodle rolls into her mouth before putting down her chopsticks and wiping her lips with a tissue. He watched as she gripped the brim of her cap with one hand and lifted it off, while the other hand smoothed her flattened hair. She tossed her long, wavy locks free.
Her skin glowed white in the sunlight. Smiling brightly, she leaned a little closer. "Got a good look?"
He caught a hint of sea salt in her scent. His pupils froze for a moment, then he gave her a casual once-over. "I have. So that's what the lady who sneaks around stealing files at night looks like."
She put her cap back on and rose briskly. "See you around, handsome."

1. This is a gift for the 19 readers who kept me company while I worked overtime during National Day. Thank you so much for your support. I hope you enjoy it. I know most of you came over from the neighboring site, doge.
2. The logic isn't very strong, and some parts might be a little hard to follow because I've added a bit of Cantonese.
3. I'll add more if anything else comes up.
