Quiet and reserved, with an almost exacting eye for detail, he excels at pinpointing killers amid a tangle of clues. Yue Xin is a forensic pathologist with the city bureau. Calm and meticulous, she can read every piece of testimony left behind by silent corpses. The scalpel is her weapon, and no subtle injury or hidden piece of evidence escapes her eyes. Outsiders see only her composure in the presence of the dead, seldom realizing that she carries the unresolved burden of an old case in her heart.
A bizarre series of murders binds the two together. The crime scenes are riddled with unanswered questions, and the killer is exceptionally skilled at erasing traces, leaving the police with very few clues. Jiang Yan investigates the scenes and tracks the suspect's movements, while Yue Xin searches the dead for the killer's hidden clues at the autopsy table.
