At the company’s annual gala, employees were given a chance to anonymously evaluate their leaders.
Yu Zhen slipped a note into the question box. It had four characters on it:
“Has a nasty way of speaking.”
After the gala, Xu Ke stopped her in the stairwell.
The lights were dim. Xu Ke lowered his eyes, barely containing his anger. “A nasty way of speaking? Then who was it that spent half an hour comforting you last night, a dog?”
Yu Zhen guiltily lowered her head and tried to change the subject. “How did you know I wrote it?”
Xu Ke laughed in disbelief and pulled out the note she’d submitted.
On the back was the name field from a form.
Yu Zhen: ?!

Xu Ke’s first impression of Yu Zhen was that she was smart.
He prided himself on liking to deal with smart people and disliking dealing with idiots.
Later, he realized he’d misjudged her.
This girl was actually kind of silly.
But how could her silliness be kind of cute?
