Gu Xunzhi was the biggest villain in the cultivation world. As a child, he became a disciple of Immortal Lord Fuguang, who made his life miserable and warped his mind. Once he gained power, he wiped out countless sects, until he was finally killed in a siege.
Reborn, Gu Xunzhi was still bent on taking revenge on society. He became the disciple of Bai Li, Fuguang's overlooked senior brother. In his previous life, Bai Li had sacrificed himself for the Dao at a crucial moment and gravely wounded Gu Xunzhi. Bai Li's disciples had also been the ones responsible for Gu Xunzhi's death. This time, Gu Xunzhi was determined to bring down his enemies from within.
Seeing that the young Gu Xunzhi had lost his parents and was all alone, Bai Li felt a kindred sympathy for him and devoted himself to his care. He taught him every cultivation art he knew, personally instructed him in reading, moral principles, military strategy, and tactics, and kept nothing of his life's learning to himself.
Under Bai Li's tutelage, Gu Xunzhi evolved from a low-class demon with nothing but cultivation to his name into a deep and calculating tyrant. He shed his violent nature, escaped the torment of inner demons, and advanced by leaps and bounds.
Grateful for his master's kindness, Gu Xunzhi had planned to cultivate his character and become a filial disciple. But he carelessly let Bai Li discover his demonic cultivation, and nearly got himself expelled from the sect.
Bai Li's sudden refusal to acknowledge him left Gu Xunzhi utterly devastated.
He decided to show Bai Li the family tradition: betraying and destroying one's master.
But before he could make a move, Bai Li was ambushed and left disgraced and ruined.
Gu Xunzhi was furious. He knew that stubborn fool couldn't get by without him!
As quickly as he could, he whisked his unlucky master away to his own territory and angrily set about getting even on his behalf.
Who did they think they were, making a move on his master before he could?
His subordinates: "Your past makes us ache for you, but your actions say you're in love with him."
