The vampire lore draws on various vampire movies and anime, especially Vampire Knight.
The author is an Akai fan.
The early chapters are told from Gin’s perspective, then the viewpoint shifts to Akai’s or alternates between them.
There will be original supporting characters, as well as adapted and reused elements from the original manga and anime.
This is a fairly uncomplicated story, without much intricate plotting or deep ideological conflict. It’s mostly about the everyday lives and romance of vampires and vampire hunters. Apologies for the out-of-character portrayals.
The age dynamic shifts from younger to older: Gin is just starting out at first, so he’s a little more inexperienced than in the original. Gin’s behavior also changes over the course of the story due to his experiences. Because of the vampire setting, this version of Gin is stronger overall than Akai, and a little gentler than his original counterpart.
There may be a few references to Gin and Vermouth’s past together (undecided), but in the main story, Vermouth is more like Gin’s guardian, with no romantic involvement.
