"This world is fake. It's just a game."
An Huaiyu, one of the top ability users in the apocalypse, accidentally transmigrated to a modern city.
She lived there for two years. Just as she was about to fit into society, her roommate, whom everyone thought was crazy, grabbed her hand and told her that this world was fake, just a game.
And the so-called game was the post-apocalyptic survival game that had taken the whole school by storm.
That night, wanting to find out the truth, An Huaiyu opened the game's installation file.
The game had nearly recreated her appearance and the school, yet somehow connected everything to information about the apocalypse in her previous life. An Huaiyu felt a strange chill. When she finished the game's prologue, the game descended upon the world.
An Huaiyu had thought that if she could just survive, perhaps the game would end. But when she opened her eyes again, she was back in the land of her previous life.
She had returned to the apocalypse.
But this time, unlike in her previous life, a game System was bound to her mind. The System told her that this world was just a game destined for a bad ending. Only by becoming a player and a savior could she survive and return to the wonderful world she'd left behind.
And she had to achieve this world's happy ending.
In this world controlled by terrifying, unknown "false gods," everyone was busy trying to survive and build up infrastructure, doing whatever it took to stay alive. Only An Huaiyu and her team could kill false gods and still stop to grill some skewers along the way.
It's just that all her teammates are oddballs: A girl with the cutest, softest face swears like a sailor, while a man who looks vicious and terrifying turns out to be a gentle househusband who can cook up a storm?
Then there's a man who's always messing around and picking fights with her, shirking his duties, yet even colder and more ruthless than she is.
...Wait, why is there also a cross-dressing man with a thing for women's clothes?!
An Huaiyu had a headache.
Even more unsettling was...
The companion who had stayed by her side all this time seemed to be more than meets the eye.
Standing high above her, the girl smiled brightly. "Huaiyu, how about becoming my heroine?"
[Lovecraftian apocalypse / horror / growth and leveling up / light ensemble cast / plot-focused / primarily friendship]
* A decisive, cool-faced heroine with a soft heart VS a flippant, witty, deceptive yet cold and numb male lead (CP)
[Before You Read:]
1. The heroine is the strongest, but she needs time to grow in the early story for plot reasons. The early chapters focus on leveling up.
2. The heroine has a CP, but the romance takes up little of the story. The male lead has little screen time and appears later. Since there is a CP and romance, the story is classified as romance. Read with care if that's not your thing.
3. Unconventional transmigration and apocalypse, with some horror elements. This is my take on a Lovecraftian apocalypse.
4. The heroine is not perfect and has some flaws. Read with care if that's not your thing.
5. Some members of the main cast appear later.
6. The game-descending premise plays a relatively small role.
