Ivina belongs to a race that must depend on a place to exist.

Without somewhere willing to take them in, they will eventually die of endless exhaustion.

After wandering for a while, Ivina finally comes across a kind and generous city.

The city takes him in, giving him a place to stay in the church attic when he has nowhere else to go. Ivina swears to rid her of every pest crawling over her.

So he beats up the street gang's thugs, takes on the supervillain kingpins, and occasionally tidies up his little home.

Day by day, life seems to get better, until one bright night early in the month, Ivina accidentally runs into a giant bat. After a few exchanges, he realizes he's outmatched and is about to use a move that would hurt his enemy badly at the cost of hurting himself even worse. Then he suddenly realizes the other one is the city's rightful guardian!

Good heavens! Why hadn't he taken a better look just now? Now it's too late. Ivina uses all his strength to veer his attack away, managing to hurt only himself, then struggles back to his little home to await the city's consciousness throwing him out for fighting its guardian.

But instead, the first one to arrive is that dark-clad guardian. He invites Ivina to his home, where Ivina is truly accepted, finds a new family, gains a new place he wants to protect, and makes himself a second nest.
