Jinzhu furtively half-dragged the badly injured man she'd found on the mountain into the corridor of Qingfeng House.
Panting, she knocked on the shopkeeper's door.
Before she could finish speaking, the shopkeeper's wife ordered someone to throw the half-dead man out of the tavern. The tiny puppy in Jinzhu's arms, whimpering pitifully, was tossed onto the nearby rubbish heap too.
Jinzhu hurried after it and picked it up. Out of the corner of her eye, she glanced at the man's faint breathing, then quietly wiped the puppy's dirty body with his sleeve.
The man's lips suddenly moved, and he slowly breathed out two words: "Help... me..."
He had thick brows, deep-set eyes, and sharply defined features. Even with his face deathly pale, his lips purple, and blood at the corner of his mouth, he couldn't hide his natural good looks.
Jinzhu stared at him, entranced. The sky was just beginning to brighten, and now she could see his face clearly. What a handsome man!

After struggling to drag him back into Qingfeng House, Jinzhu finally persuaded her sister with a dramatic display of tears, tantrums, and threats.
Once the man's health improved, he took several heavy gold ingots from his sleeve and handed them to the shopkeeper's wife. "Thank you, Shopkeeper. Please allow me to recuperate here for a while. This is a small token of my gratitude."
Jinzhu, standing to one side, stared with eyes as round as bells. Handsome men can drop gold coins too!
