The aloof, unfeeling Dao Venerable of the Heartless Path x the passionate, radiant Dao Venerable of the All-Living Path
Ten years ago, Xie Qingchen accidentally entered the river of time and saw another version of himself in a different world. Clad in gold and red, he burned through all his cultivation to save the people, only to be blamed by them. In the end, his physical body vanished from the world, and Xie Qingchen could do nothing.
The bright and passionate savior died unknown and unmourned.
After returning from the river of time, Xie Qingchen's All-Living Path shattered, and he developed a heart demon. He spent five years in seclusion stabilizing his cultivation.
He had once sworn to protect the people, even at the cost of his life and cultivation, and he had truly done so. But after seeing his own ending, he could no longer cultivate the All-Living Path, and instead took up the Heartless Path.
After ending his seclusion, he sensed that he had developed a heart demon. The heart demon was just like his former self: carefree and unrestrained, holding a red fan and always smiling. He couldn't help feeling that the heart demon resembled the version of himself from another world even more.
"That's true... A heart demon is bound to resemble you, at least a little."
Xie Qingchen did nothing about the heart demon. He let it run amok, leaving it alone. The heart demon was his only chance to see his otherworldly self again.
1. To distinguish the two Xie Qingchens, they have different courtesy names. The main-character Xie Qingchen is called Xie Sheng, and the otherworldly Xie Qingchen is called Xie Shu.
2. This is a spur-of-the-moment idea, so there may be a few plot holes. Read with caution!
3. Who's the top and who's the bottom? Oh, whoever.
4. I haven't decided whether to include forum-style chapters yet. It might also be a mix of regular chapters and forum posts.
