Synopsis
[Western fantasy, light novel style]
[A warm ensemble cast with family bonds and friendship at its core]
[But with plenty of romantic tension and explicit couple scenes, so it's categorized as romance by orientation]
[Multiple POVs]
Everyone was gone.
In an instant, all that remained of the wolf child's home was animal corpses and the ruins of plants.
She had been "deceived" by that "childhood playmate," a boy built from lies.
He knew all along. He knew everything...
Without magic or a strong body,
the homeless girl fled and hid in the forest.
The tiniest being in the world, she could find no reason to keep living.
Until...
"Would you accept us as your family?"
The Shengzifang Flower Shop
- A tiny flower spirit carrying the mission of her kind: super cute ( ˆoˆ )
- A human shopkeeper with an unspoken secret: what a pain (;`O´)o
- An introverted elf, gloomy and insecure: very reliable (´ω` )
This world ranks the value of "existence."
The conflicts between races continue to smolder, and fate still churns like a flood.
As the tiniest of lives, we become one another's ark, and sing of the meaning of our existence.
And while we're at it...
- Meet the "childhood playmate" who "was supposed to build an ark" but is about to drown himself, along with his three accomplices who probably belong in a psychiatric hospital.
- Meet a young group of four rebels, and watch their clashing personalities spark.
- Catch a glimpse of the rise and fall of outsiders.
the Poem of Noah's Ark
A song to the tiny lives who, through sheer will, steer humanity safely through the howling flood
[
In these unstable times, four flower shop residents share everyday life with friends from the ruling faction, the rebel faction, and those who stand amid the chaos. owo
Volume One is mainly about the bonds of family formed when they meet at the flower shop.
Volumes Two and Three follow the possibly romantic friendship between the first protagonist and their partner.
Volume Four explores a second protagonist's family bonds and twisted love.
Volume Five is full of friendship.
The character relationships center on some couples, but the whole cast is a complicated mix, and some characters involved in couples have troubled past relationships.
Main couple and first-stage secondary couple: childhood friends who meet later; star-crossed lovers, a natural airhead; loving and hurting each other, control.
Various friendship pairings: lots of tsundere types, bickering duos, and clashes over fundamental values.
...In general, the female characters are more forceful, while the male characters are more reserved.
The setting's civilization takes heterosexuality as the default, and all the couples with explicit scenes in the story are male-female. There are also plenty of interactions between same-sex characters.
So I thought I'd categorize it as romance, and set the male lead as the first protagonist's partner.
In fact, the second protagonist of the first arc is someone else.

Theme: Even if you aren't strong enough, even if you feel powerless against this dog-eat-dog world, even the smallest lives have meaning, and can seek out a life lived for themselves. If you don't know where to start, try looking for it in the ark you build by connecting with others. It will surely carry you through the flood.
