Chen Mu, outwardly a smooth operator but inwardly gloomy and unhinged X Bai Jingxiu, outwardly courteous but inwardly flirtatious, arrogant, and sensitive
In his previous life, Chen Mu was an illegitimate son, gloomy and unhinged, who endured humiliation and abuse. His family handed him over to Bai Jingxiu, the young heir of Haicheng. He endured the insults and did everything he could to please Bai Jingxiu, using every resource at his disposal to bring down the Chen family. Before he knew it, he had fallen in love with the man who had given him everything. He thought he could have a life of his own too, but he was wrong. He had only toppled the Chen family's public facade. The family retaliated, and the person he loved died before his eyes trying to save him.
Given another chance, Chen Mu presents himself as charming and adept at dealing with everyone. Using his knowledge of the future, he joins the circle of powerful heirs early, taking care of everyone wherever he goes.
Bai Jingxiu is the darling of fate, the dream of every young man and woman in Haicheng. This time, Chen Mu wants to give Bai Jingxiu back to the person who can make him happy.
He racks his brains just to catch a distant glimpse of Bai Jingxiu, hear news of him as soon as possible, and do everything he can to bring him a little more happiness and peace.
At parties, he secretly makes desserts himself. At gatherings, he personally brews tea and brings pastries he's made. In secret, he also clears away every danger that existed in his previous life.
Chen Mu thinks he's doing everything in secret, unaware that Bai Jingxiu sees it all. Gradually, Bai Jingxiu watches Chen Mu more and more, and finds him increasingly difficult to understand.
When the Chen family finally falls and Chen Mu has eliminated every danger, he takes his luggage and heads abroad, only for Bai Jingxiu to block him at the airport.
“Mr. Chen, where are you off to on this business trip?”
