Jiang Bei wakes up inside a supernatural danmei novel, only to find himself being choked by a vengeful ghost.
The good news: a System has arrived to save him!
The bad news: the ghost is the original novel's male lead, and he's completely corrupted!
...What a disastrous start!
To stay alive and complete his System missions, Jiang Bei has no choice but to maintain the original owner's persona and pretend he likes the male lead.
The good news: after regaining his senses, the male lead seems fairly rational. He understands what people say and is easy to fool (crossed out) easy to talk to.
The bad news: this aloof, distant male lead keeps kissing him out of nowhere! It's absolutely terrifying!
For the missions, and for his own life, Jiang Bei, a straight man, puts up with it! It's just a kiss. He can handle that much!
The good news: after a while, he gets used to kissing him.
The bad news: his body starts reacting!
...No, no, no, he's straight!
Later, Jiang Bei reassures himself: it's no big deal for straight men to help each other out.
Later still, Jiang Bei starts to think maybe he's not entirely straight.
Just as Jiang Bei begins getting used to Gu Yan's affection and tries to accept him, Gu Yan accidentally discovers that everything Jiang Bei had said about liking him was a lie.
Gu Yan, who was always so composed and calm, has blood-red eyes. His cold, complicated gaze makes Jiang Bei's heart jolt.
Bonus scene:
Gu Yan grips him by the throat and pins him to the bed. His teeth grind against Jiang Bei's lips until beads of blood appear, then his tongue reaches out to lick them clean. As Jiang Bei stares at him in terror, Gu Yan tangles their lips and teeth, forcing him into a deep kiss that tastes of rust.
Only then does Jiang Bei understand what Gu Yan is really like as a fully corrupted ghost.
He's an obsessive, cold-blooded madman with a fierce possessiveness!
[Reading Guide]
The male lead isn't actually a ghost from the start (there's a reason). He only becomes a real ghost after losing his body midway through the story. His corruption level is high early on, but he's calm and restrained. Later, he's genuinely obsessive, cold, and utterly mad. There are a few scenes of forced romance, but I promise there won't be angst!
Theme: Meet sincerity with sincerity. Love sets people free.
🐶Is Gu Yan starting to reveal his true nature?
Isn't Jiangbei afraid of ghosts? Hahaha, after becoming a heavenly master, he will take the initiative to deal with ghosts, right?
I can't beat this evil spirit again and again. I can only say harsh words every time😆
