Childhood Friend, Why Are You Still Pretending to Be Dead?

Rei Furuya and Kamijima Meiyi were childhood friends who loved each other. Though Meiyi was a few years younger, they got together right after he graduated high school and promised to attend the police academy together.

Meiyi had been excitedly planning to attend Zero’s graduation ceremony. He had just stepped through the police academy gates when his beloved was hit and killed at the entrance by a criminal seeking revenge. Meiyi witnessed the bloody scene with his own eyes.

Once as strong as a young bull, Meiyi’s health began to deteriorate rapidly after that. After graduation, his days were spent half-dead, fighting criminals, working late into the night, and drinking and smoking without restraint. He did everything he could to wreck his health, and succeeded.

His only goal was to find the criminal who had killed his beloved. He didn’t care about anything else.

Then one day, while responding to a call at the Poirot Café as usual, he expected another boring case. Instead, he saw the dead lover who’d been gone for seven years?

“Huh? Why are you looking at me like that, Officer? Oh, it’s your first time here. I’m Amuro Tooru, a waiter at the Poirot Café.”
