Constrained by their pasts / older woman, younger man / a slow, steady romance / bittersweet / one-on-one romance
Shen Ange & Cheng Yi
A carefree older woman & a brooding, seemingly innocent but secretly calculating puppy-like younger man
An entrepreneur in the traditional arts industry & an aerospace technician
In the fifteenth year of Shen Ange’s search for her younger brother, she met Cheng Yi, a man who looked remarkably like him.
“You look like my little brother.”
Cheng Yi paused mid-cigarette. “What happened to your brother... how did he die?”
After a long silence, Shen Ange smiled. “I was showing off when someone snatched him away.”
Cheng Yi told her bluntly, “I’m not your little brother.”
He had never wanted a sister.
Shen Ange narrowed her eyes. “If I had a little brother like you, I’d beat you eight times a day.”
But fate had other plans, treating life like a game.
She would rather Cheng Yi really were her little brother.
Shen Ange found Cheng Yi’s grandfather, hoping he would still have family after she left.
His grandfather smiled. “My greatest duty is to raise him to adulthood. It isn’t because of some bond of blood that will last forever, but because this is the greatest kindness we can offer society.”
