What's it like to run a little restaurant in a Cthulhu world?
Basically, you have to go into dungeons yourself to scavenge ingredients. Whether you come back with an arm, a head, or an eyeball depends on the day.
And that's not all. You have to pay to use the remains you collect.
The seaside town of Notting is shrouded in sea fog all year round. Strange whispers drift beyond the walls, and madness quietly spreads through the streets.
Gou Yue somehow finds herself there and takes over a little restaurant that's on the verge of going out of business.
Later, writhing tentacles, mutated beasts, and all sorts of other things end up as ingredients in her cooking.
Her customers include all kinds of creatures, players, and NPCs. Once they enter her restaurant, everyone gets along peacefully and leaves everyone else alone.
The strange thing is, after eating food she's prepared herself, their agitated auditory hallucinations calm down, and their minds, on the verge of shattering, briefly return to normal.
Human investigators, injured deep ones, the last surviving followers of the old gods, and even beings that wander through the fog with forms too unstable to hold their shape all follow the aroma and quietly line up to knock on the restaurant's wooden door.
There's only one person who comes every single day, rain or shine.
Gou Yue is focused on making money and living a quiet life, with no time to pay him much attention. To her, anyone who comes through the door is a customer, as long as they pay.
Until one day, he brings her a dungeon boss as a gift, his gaze earnest: "It's fresh, just killed. Want it?"
[Reading Guide]
1. The heroine's perspective, third person. Plot-focused, with a romance that isn't the main storyline.
2. Cthulhu-inspired setting, but not horror. The focus is on "healing through food."
3. The male lead is nonhuman. His true form is indescribable, but his human form is incredibly handsome.
4. Both leads are each other's first and only. Happy ending.
