As they ran, the villagers explained that in recent years, for some unknown reason, wolves with humanlike bodies had occasionally been spotted in the mountains near the village. They walked upright and usually lived and worked deep in the mountains. But every full moon, they went mad, came down the mountain to wreck the village, and even bit people.

"If one of them bites you, there's basically no hope of saving you." The villagers were still shaken, but their feet moved fast.

"Werewolves? Does that even make sense? What kind of world have I landed in? Is this even still my home world?"

Though Ling Yueyun was young and vigorous, he couldn't keep up with villagers used to hard physical labor. Gradually, he fell to the back of the group. For a split second, all he heard was the wind rushing past his ears. Then a chill pierced him through, and he slowly fell to the ground, unable to feel a thing.
