During winter break of their second year of high school, Tan Qingxu had built a huge snowman. Then some total idiot plowed into it on a bicycle, sending it flying several meters. The lower half was smashed to pieces, while the upper half rolled far away. The idiot tossed out an apology and left without even getting off his bike. Tan Qingxu was furious and vowed that if he ever ran into that guy again, he would make him pay.

When classes resumed and the students were assigned to new homerooms, Tan Qingxu looked up at his new deskmate and saw the culprit who had destroyed his snowman. He raised an eyebrow. What a small world.

Zhou Huaicheng had thought he would never again run into the child who used to follow close on his heels. But when classes resumed and they were assigned to new homerooms, he looked up to see his new deskmate staring at him with a face just like that of the boy next door, only all grown up, and wearing a teasing smile.

One day, Zhou Huaicheng's true identity was revealed. Tan Qingxu pinned him against the wall by the throat. "You think it's fun to mess with me?"

He lowered his lashes without expression, his gaze fixed on Tan Qingxu's lips, and slowly leaned closer...

Once, when they were children,

Tan Qingxu bared his teeth to show off his newly replaced ones, then said fiercely, "If you ever leave me behind, I'll bite you to death..."

"What?" Zhou Huaicheng stared wide-eyed at Tan Qingxu, who was still baring his teeth.

The latter lowered his eyes and avoided his gaze, mumbling, "...I was just kidding."

Years later,

Tan Qingxu slowly lowered his head and sank his teeth into the collarbone that had always stuck out against him, even when they were children. He growled, "I'm really going to bite you to death!"

"Go ahead." Zhou Huaicheng was forced to tilt his head back a little, smiling at him.
