A spoiled, willful princess type versus a cool, fake underachiever
A dance student and a science-minded boy
Lin Qingchi, the beloved eldest daughter of the Lin family of the capital, storms out of home on a whim after a disagreement and runs off to attend high school in a small county town called Zhongtan.
Just after she successfully lands on the other side of the school wall, she comes face-to-face with Su Zhen, a fake underachiever who skipped class to visit his mother's grave. They greet each other with a cheery "Good morning."
After a whole lot of trouble, they both get caught. Lin, still seething, can't swallow her pride. As luck would have it, the unfortunate Su Zhen becomes her deskmate and falls into her hands. Surely she can do whatever she wants with him now?
Lin's fantasies are lovely, but in reality, Su Zhen never falls for her tricks. Furious, she plots her next move, only to round a corner in an alley and find her "delicate" deskmate surrounded and chased by a group of big, burly athletes.
Unwilling to take advantage of someone in trouble, Lin acts against her own grumbling nature and goes to save him. After the two join forces against their common enemy, she decides to see the good deed through and walk him home.
Lin Qingchi stares at the old alley in front of her. A broken lamp flickers like a ghost is floating nearby. When she asks, she learns there's no one else at home, and guilt hits her hard!
Lin Qingchi, feeling guilty: "Hey, deskmate, why don't you make me your boss? I promise I'll treat you well~"
Su Zhen lowers his gaze, watching the girl take a few steps back. He pretends to speak sincerely. "Then can the boss escort her underling to his front door?"
[Reading Guide]:
1. The heroine takes the initiative early on, while the hero is a little withdrawn. After they reunite, he competes for her, fights for her, and plays the pitiful card to win her over.
2. They quickly clear up their misunderstanding after reuniting. Overall, this is a sweet little romance!
3. The story has a secondary couple, whose main storyline appears in the extra chapters. Read on if you like that.
4. The characters are not based on real people, and the story is entirely fictional.
5. It starts in school and later moves to the city. The leads aren't perfect, but each is the only person the other has ever loved.
