Becoming the Substitute Wife of a Cold, Powerful Chancellor

As soon as Lu Shiqing arrives in this world, she is presented as a beauty to Fu Nianqing, the powerful minister of the current dynasty.

Fu Nianqing is ruthless and cold-hearted. Countless people have died at her hands.

Her only weakness is her admiration for the Fifth Princess, Li Yunqing, who died young.

By chance, Lu Shiqing has a face identical to Li Yunqing's.

That night, forced into a sheer white robe, she steps into the heated pool where Fu Nianqing is bathing.

Through the mist, Lu Shiqing sees a woman rise from the pool, her skin as white as snow and her black hair falling to her waist. The woman looks at her as if she were already dead.

As Lu Shiqing hurriedly looks up to explain, she feels the woman's wet fingertips touch her chin. Her eyes shimmer with moisture as she says, "Weren't you here to serve me? Get in."

Lu Shiqing successfully moves into the Fu residence.

Everyone says she bewitched Fu Nianqing with her face.

No one could have imagined, least of all Lu Shiqing herself, that she would suddenly become the Ninth Princess of the current dynasty.

When the emperor grants them an imperial betrothal, Lu Shiqing takes the wedding garment's design to Fu Nianqing. Outside the door, she hears someone say, "My feelings for Yunqing have never changed, from beginning to end."

Lu Shiqing freezes outside. It dawns on her that everything Fu Nianqing has done for her, every plan she has made on her behalf, is because of her face.

How could she have forgotten? From the start, she was only a substitute.

Lu Shiqing leaves without a word and sets out alone for Luozhou to investigate a case.

Halfway through the journey, her carriage is suddenly stopped.

Someone lifts the curtain, and Fu Nianqing steps inside. She looks down at Lu Shiqing, her eyes dark and unreadable.

She takes Lu Shiqing's hand and places it on her own abdomen, smiling tenderly yet obsessively. "Qing'er, how long are you planning to leave this time? Are you going to abandon our child too?"

Lu Shiqing: ...Who said she was leaving? She was only going to Luozhou to investigate a case and clear her head.

Wait, what did Fu Nianqing say? A child? Where did that come from?!

One-on-one, sweet romance.

Lu Shiqing and Li Yunqing are the same person. Little Lu has amnesia.

Lu is 18, Fu is 27, with a nine-year age gap.
