Blurb:
Zhao Shu transmigrates into a pirated ancient-style mystery game and becomes Princess Roujia, who is framed from the start by her husband, the Prince Consort, and his beloved in a conspiracy.
Other people transmigrate and get caught up in palace and household intrigues. She, on the other hand, has to figure out how to win her case the moment she arrives.
Zhao Shu: ...Am I supposed to defend myself? Seriously?
Since she's already here, she might as well make the most of it.
In the very first case, she tears into the opposing side until they are speechless and shrieking, declares that she's divorcing the Prince Consort, and walks away with panache.
Everyone in Yunjing says Princess Roujia is not to be trifled with.
Only Xiao Zan, the Assistant Minister of the Court of Judicial Review, sits calmly in the side seats during each trial, watching her make a scene in court. Afterward, he always quietly helps her sort out a few unnecessary complications.
At first, Zhao Shu thinks he's only doing his job.
After all, she has to clear every case and max out Xiao Zan's affection meter on the side before she can go home. Surely the lousy game can't expect her to force a relationship all by herself.
Xiao Zan is terrifyingly calm when investigating cases, but fights like he doesn't care if he lives or dies. His interrogations can make people question their whole existence.
And yet, when it comes to her, there's always something a little off about this Assistant Minister of the Court of Judicial Review.
When bandits surround Zhao Shu, he takes an arrow for her. When she investigates a case late at night, he protects her with his blade.
One day, as Zhao Shu applies medicine to him, she sees the shocking wound and can't help empathizing. "Does it hurt?"
Xiao Zan's ears turn red. He tugs at his half-removed robe, but keeps his face composed. "Your Highness, please let me do it myself."
Later, Zhao Shu finally can't hold back. She grabs his sleeve and asks, "Xiao Zan, do you like me?"
Xiao Zan doesn't answer. He just looks down at her for a long time, until she starts to feel uneasy. It is as if he has finally accepted his fate, or as if he has waited far too long.
He bends down and gently kisses her forehead.
[Mini-scene: Xiao Zan's point of view]
When Xiao Zan first meets Princess Roujia, he thinks she must have been bullied terribly to be forced to bare her claws.
Later, he discovers that she's not only sharp-tongued, but also loves teasing him. She's practically shameless.
But watching her work so hard to defend people in court, he suddenly thinks that perhaps this isn't what she's really like.
Then Xiao Zan goes out to investigate another case with her, only for her to pin him against the door. His only thought is: This woman really is too shameless!
He raises his hand several times, but in the end, he still doesn't push her away. For a fleeting moment, he even thinks: If she acted this way only with him, that might not be so bad.
Theatrical, snarky princess × aloof, pure-hearted assistant minister
Reader's guide: Original title: The Daily Reversal in Ancient Times
One-on-one romance, but the heroine has an ex-husband after she transmigrates, who has very little page time. So the heroine is not a virgin, while the hero is.
This is not a strong-female-lead story. It's mostly about everyday case-solving.
Set in a fictional world, with some inspiration from the Song Dynasty, but many details are invented. The author knows nothing, so please don't nitpick the history.
Updated the blurb again. The author really has no idea what else to do.
Theme: Love helps both people grow and find fulfillment
