For reasons I can't talk about, my school life was pretty miserable. Only one person was willing to be my friend. He always spoke in a cutesy, needy way, said cringey things, and acted very gay, but he was still my best friend.

It was only natural that he eventually became my boyfriend.

After we graduated, maybe because my social skills were so bad, I couldn't find a job anywhere.

That is, until a former classmate ran into me and told me the truth:

"You can't find a job because your boyfriend did that!"

"You cut ties with all your old friends because your boyfriend did that!"

"You were bullied at school from the very beginning because your boyfriend did that!"

...What? So my boyfriend really is an absolutely terrible person?

My classmate stared at me in shock. "And then?"

I looked at him, confused. "My boyfriend's probably looking for me. I've been gone so long, he must be worried."

I felt a little relieved. "So he was the reason I kept hitting dead ends when I was job hunting. I thought I just wasn't good enough."
