[Sharp-tongued but action-oriented, highly intelligent, handsome university student bottom, Shen Ye] × [Taciturn, stubborn, high-ranking, beautiful and powerful ghost top, Murong He]
Romance-focused / Past and present lives / Mutual devotion / He came to the human world, I entered the ghost realm
One day during his first year of college, Shen Ye was accosted by a piece of paper on his way to class. It chased him for half a street. He picked it up and took a look: feeding a cat? And for an astronomical fee? Money offered right to his door, so why not go earn it?
The navigation app led him all the way up a mountain cemetery road. Shen Ye wondered what kind of normal person would keep a cat in a place like this. After winding around the mountain road several times, he finally found an old Chinese-style mansion at the end.
The employer was inside: silver-haired and dressed in elaborate white robes, as beautiful as a mountain god worshipped for centuries on some peak. Unfortunately, this "mountain god" wasn't quite right in the head, and everything he said was incomprehensible to Shen Ye. Shen Ye immediately ran away, and even drove off in the man's car.
Three months later, he finally figured it out: the cat was real, but the part-time job was fake. The man had gone to such lengths to lure him there because he wanted to see him. Shen Ye came to his senses: he wasn't going back. He absolutely could not return to that haunted place!
But the ghost lord, who had never once entered a crowd, appeared at Shen Ye's school for the first time. Murong He sat in a car, dressed in old-fashioned white robes. He looked utterly out of place in the modern era, yet he looked at Shen Ye and told him, one thing after another, about their past.
Shen Ye found it giving him a headache. As a law student, his life was clear-cut: classes, exams, and a plan for after graduation. The only thing that didn't quite make sense was the inexplicable way his heart raced whenever he saw Murong He. As for the past Murong He talked about? Anyone who believed it had to be crazy.
Until the blood oath that had lain dormant for a thousand years took effect again. Scenes Shen Ye had never experienced, yet found terrifyingly familiar, began appearing in flashes: a snowfall, a sword, and a white-robed Daoist priest covered in blood.
Only then did Shen Ye realize that Murong He's stories about their "past" might not be nonsense after all.
Bonus scene
On a tower in the City of the Wrongfully Dead in the ghost realm, Murong He sat enthroned in a high seat, playing a melody that subdued ten thousand souls. No one below dared raise their head. Shen Ye, sitting beside him, was perfectly at ease. He spun the folding fan in his hand and said, "Ghost Lord, you're such a big shot. You keep up appearances every day. Have you never done anything that really makes you lose face?"
The music stopped for a moment.
"I have."
Shen Ye grew interested and reached out to tug at the red ribbon in Murong He's silver hair. "What?"
Murong He let him tug, his expression calm. "Tricking you into coming over to feed the cat."
"..."
He paused, then added, "It really wasn't very dignified."
