[Two male leads | Infinite flow | Rule-based horror | System | Lighthearted comedy | 1v1]
Lu San has an ability anyone would envy: he comes back to life after dying.
The only problem is that he never dies with much dignity.
He’s been stabbed, hit by cars, chased and chewed on by monsters. He finally learned to dodge danger, but whenever the other man is in danger, his body rushes in on its own, and his mouth betrays him by drawing all the enemy’s aggression.
“Is that all you’ve got? You think you can hurt him?”
Lu San: “...”
Great. Time to get ready to come back to life again.
Until one time, he died in a man’s arms and heard the man say his name correctly.
“Lu San, stop dying for me.”
Only then did Lu San learn that he had died 102 times.
And the man he thought he’d never met before remembered every one of his deaths.
Lu San: “What exactly were we to each other?”
Chen Zhao was silent for a long time.
“I’m your male lead.”
Later, Lu San finally understood. He wasn’t an insignificant passerby number three.
He had been a protagonist, too.
The System’s rules say a story can only have one protagonist.
Both he and Chen Zhao used to be protagonists.
Now the System demands they choose: one will live to the ending, while the other will die in the story forever.
After reading the rules, Lu San asked sincerely, “Can the System die?”
Chen Zhao drew his knife. “We can try.”
They had loved each other, been separated, and died for each other countless times.
This time, neither would sacrifice himself for the other.
They would both make it to the end.
A death-fearing, sharp-tongued bottom who’s a master at finding loopholes in the rules × a calm, taciturn top who remembers everything from the past
Mutual salvation, infinite flow, rule-based horror, reunion after amnesia, lighthearted, sweet, and satisfying
Theme: Love isn’t about sacrificing yourself for the other person. It’s about respecting each other’s choices and breaking free from the fate laid out for you, together.
