Synopsis:
As the little miss of a duke's household, Wei Jinshu grew up cherished and adored, and had never wanted for anything in her life.
There was only one problem: she had suffered from an eye ailment since childhood.
Her brother pitied her blindness and decided she could never become another man's wife, so he kept her locked by his side.
He had thought Wei Jinshu would remain a pampered young lady all her life. But after the late chill of spring that year, the emperor personally arranged her marriage to Cheng Baiyue, an imperial censor.
A noble lady matched with a powerful minister: it was a fine marriage everyone praised. But lately, Wei Jinshu had begun to feel that something was very wrong with her husband.
For instance, his moods were unpredictable.
At night, whenever she could no longer bear it, her husband would sometimes hold her by the waist, stop, and soothe her gently. But more often, he ignored her crying and deliberately made things harder for her.
Another example: her husband was terribly forgetful.
He had applied medicine to her that very morning, yet now he came to her bedside with the ointment again. With practiced ease, he lifted her skirt, his fingertips slipping beneath it...
Then one day, she realized that her husband seemed to be two different people.

When Cheng Songyi heard that his elder brother was getting married, he rushed back to the capital from the northern frontier.
He should have been there to congratulate his brother on his wedding, until he happened to catch sight of the bride's face.
She was the woman he had loved for years, whom he had not seen in a long time.
The guests' praise of the newlyweds as a perfect match grated on his ears.
He and Cheng Baiyue were twins, with identical faces. If anyone was a perfect match for his sister-in-law, it should be him.
He knew he was a terrible person, but she had been his beloved first. She had only happened to become his sister-in-law.

Cheng Songyi toyed with a lock of her hair, amused. "What makes you think he's any better?"
Unable to see clearly, she had not even made it out the door before she crashed straight into Cheng Baiyue's chest. The man was still wearing his crimson official robes; he had not had a chance to change.
Cheng Baiyue easily scooped her up and carried her back to the bed, which still held some warmth.
The two men backed Wei Jinshu toward the foot of the bed. She clutched the covers, with nowhere left to run.
"I told you, he's no good either."
P.S.:
1. The heroine isn't completely blind. She can see a little light and make out rough colors.
2. The leads only had a wedding ceremony. They didn't register their marriage, so they aren't legally married.
2. The two male leads are identical twins.
3. There are a great many despicable men trying to seduce the heroine in the synopsis, but the first husband is magnanimous.
Cheng Baiyue: As long as my wife comes home and doesn't run off with some wild man, that's enough for me. 😭
