Su Qingqing (25 years old, Chinese chef) went to London to live with relatives due to family changes. By accident, she worked as a chef in a French restaurant with one Michelin star. She encountered double discrimination based on gender and nationality.
Su Qingqing was forced to give up her position as a domestic restaurant chef after her mother's serious illness depleted her savings and flew to London with her ancestral kitchen knife and recipe book.
Living in a relative's small apartment and rainy weather, Su Qingqing worked part-time in a Chinese restaurant in Chinatown to make ends meet. Because of her amazing knife skills, she was recommended to a high-end restaurant for an interview.
