[I'm torn between writing a short story and a long one. If enough people are interested in the premise, I'll make it a long story, but I can't handle two serials at once. I'm mainly updating my other story, Eight Eggs. I'll start updating this one properly once that story is finished. There are two chapters here already, though they may be revised, so think of this as a preview of a planned story (?)]
After Klein ascended to become the Lord of the Mysteries and fell into a deep slumber, he finally woke up, only to discover that he'd arrived in a strange world.
A game world.
Worried that this was part of the Celestial Worthy or an Outer Deity's plan, he decided to play along. He returned to the “starter village” with the person who had found him, intending to observe the situation before deciding what to do next.
Then he discovered that most of the people in the game seemed to be his believers.
His self-proclaimed “master” was a prime example. Apparently, he was a core member of the Church of the Fool. Aside from farming and crafting Beyonder items, the young man didn't seem interested in anything. He was remarkably laid-back.
But when Klein chatted with members of the other churches, they mentioned that his “master” was great in every way, except that he was a little too extreme in his attitude toward anti-Fool groups. Looking at his master in the workshop, whose temperament reminded him of Fors, Klein wasn't so sure.
Then one day, the two of them ran into a notorious Klein-hater squad out in the wilderness. Several Fool believers were arguing with them.
At first, Klein was quite pleased to hear his master say, “We're all civilized people. Let's not fight.” He felt embarrassed seeing people flame each other over him.
But the next second, his master, whose player name was “Gentleman,” pulled out five Beyonder items and attacked the other side with a benevolent smile. While saying, “If you hate Klein so much, why are you playing Lord of the Mysteries?” he camped at their respawn point, killing them over and over until their levels dropped from max to the starting level.
Klein: …Does “let's not fight” mean just attack them instead???
Even the Fool himself thought this was no longer a little extreme. It was extremely extreme!
.
Klein is the protagonist, no romance.
“Gentleman” is called his master, but he's actually a good friend. His role is to improve Klein's gaming experience. Think of him as a cheat-code grandpa? Basically, he's a mobile equipment warehouse.
The story is very enthusiastic about Klein. “Gentleman” is an extreme Klein fan and is extremely hostile to Klein-haters.
There may be some retro MMORPG tropes, like an overpowered protagonist, chuuni characters, mindless action, and hot-blooded enthusiasm. There will be scenes resembling forum posts in the world and church chat channels. I swear I'll write a bunch of martial heroes having a passionate time playing an online game (?).
Everyone transmigrates together. Prepare for a little shock from the believers. I expect to give Klein some illogical cheat abilities so he can effortlessly nail the Celestial Worthy's coffin shut, and bring a few side characters back to life. Don't overthink it. The author has no brain and is a stupid donkey.
I haven't read Circle of Inevitability, so apart from a few settings, none of its plot will be involved. The game is unrelated to any Lord of the Mysteries games on the market. It's a mishmash of online-game novels I've read and games I've played.
Since I'm adapting the original work into a game, some settings will inevitably differ from the original worldbuilding. Just think of it as a spin-off game set in the same world. Still, if you're a stickler for canon or details, read with caution.
There's no stealing the spotlight because this story has little to do with the original work (?). It's purely an online-game story. Chapter one introduces the setting from “Gentleman's” perspective, and chapter two switches to Klein's.
Anyway, hail the Klein fandom!
Theme: Our motto is to beat the Klein-haters to death! Protect Mr. Fool!
Is this book updated weekly?
Klein is cute, and the NPC that turns into a pot sticker when there are so many people is so funny.
