"There's definitely something wrong with Beika Town."
Ten days after opening her detective agency, Izayoi Haruo said this to her assistant.
This place called Beika Town is even more terrifying than Gotham!!!
On average, there's a murder every hour, a robbery every three days, and a bombing that threatens the entire country every month!
Thanks to her reputation and widely acknowledged talent, people are clamoring to hire her to investigate their cases.
Missing persons, poisonings, suicides, stalkers, flashers... Why is she even being asked to investigate affairs?!
And that's not all that's strange about Beika Town.
Izayoi is in love with her former classmate and current assistant, Komaeda Nagito. She's doing everything she can to confess, carefully picking out several possible places.
At the movie theater, just as Izayoi Haruo gathers the courage to confess, a murder takes place. While she's distracted solving the case, an elementary school student cuts in on her halfway through.
Worse, the kid even gives her a fake smile and says, "Oh? Uncle Mori taught me everything. He's a really great detective!"
That's a provocation, no doubt about it!
At the cafe, just as she gives him a present, a robber shows up, and the person she wants to confess to is unlucky enough to be taken hostage.
Just as Izayoi is about to put her brilliant mind to work and rescue him, a dark-skinned waiter drops in from above and takes down the criminal with moves that look downright professional.
"I'm a detective, so of course I need to learn a few ways to defend myself," the sunny, handsome guy explains.
Another detective!
An amusement park is the perfect place to confess. When night falls, she can't hold back any longer.
"Nagito, actually, I li..."
Flames suddenly flare up, and the blast drowns out the rest of Izayoi's words.
Amid the wreckage, she thinks she sees two men beating each other up.
Is this another thing the detectives are responsible for?!
At her wit's end, Izayoi Haruo slams her hand on the table and starts investigating. In the end, her trail leads to the Black Organization.
Those villains will stop at nothing. They're churning out detectives in Beika Town, and now they've set their sights on her assistant too!
She decides to team up with an elementary school student and take down the forces of evil!
Detective Conan is the main setting, with a little Danganronpa mixed in. The background references are optional and won't affect your enjoyment.
