Ning Dao lived by the blade in the apocalypse for eight years, until one day he died in a tide of corpses.
When he woke up, he had become a seventeen-year-old Japanese high school girl named Kojima Lemon.
She was petite and sweet-looking, a member of the underground idol group FRUITY, and dreamed of becoming Japan's top idol.
Ning Dao sneered. Being an idol was nothing. Killing zombies was as easy as killing chickens. How hard could singing and dancing be?
Then he got the lyric sheet:
"I only like you~ I like you so, so much~
I'll turn into sticky, sweet honey and cling to you~
I'll press my whole body right up against you~
I don't want to be apart for even one second!"
Ning Dao: "..."
Fine. He'd sing it.
At a fan handshake event, a thirty-year-old corporate drone wearing a lemon-yellow fan shirt took his hand, eyes reddening. "Lemon-chan... I work overtime until midnight every day, and watching your videos is the only thing keeping me alive... You're the whole meaning of my life... If I didn't have you, I'd jump in front of a train tomorrow..."
"So, could you call me... Onii-chan?"
Ning Dao's gaze sharpened. The muscle memory he'd built up over eight years in the apocalypse told him it would take just 0.3 seconds to snap this person's neck.
Nearby, his manager stared at him with deep dark circles under his eyes.
Ning Dao: "..."
Fine. He'd say it.
Ning Dao forced a smile, the corner of his mouth twitching. "Lemon... likes Onii-chan best..."
At a radio recording, the host read a fan letter: "This is Ayeha from Shiritsu Shiritsu Yurigaoka Girls' Academy. I want to ask Lemon-chan, what do you usually do at night? Have you played that popular dating game lately?"
What does he do at night? Obviously, he gets worked to the bone by his agency.
But Ning Dao pressed one finger to his lips, blinked his innocent big eyes, and delivered the lines he'd prepared:
"Eh? Romance and all that, I don't really understand... After I take a bath at night, I chat with Rio and go to bed at eight."
"Oh, Rio is my teddy bear~"
Amid the recording studio's chorus of "Kawaii!", Ning Dao had only one thought:
Maybe he should just go back to the apocalypse and kill zombies.
