Qiuyue is CQG's mid-laner and captain, as well as the most popular player in the YPL league.
But everyone in the league knows Qiuyue has a sworn enemy: GDG's AD carry, Yan Xu.
Qiuyue and Yan Xu started competing in the same year. They became enemies at the youth training camp years ago, and ever since, they've refused to share the same stage.
They refuse to share the same stage, but never miss a chance to insult each other.
Qiuyue dyed his hair orange, and Yan Xu said he was an orange come to life who'd gone pro.
Yan Xu liked wearing ripped clothes, so Qiuyue called him a beggar and threatened to send him a broken bowl so he could beg on the street.
Qiuyue changed his peripherals every few days, and Yan Xu said he was the kind of bad student who needed a mountain of stationery.
Yan Xu liked to angle his keyboard while gaming, so Qiuyue nicknamed him the Slanted Keyboard Immortal.
Three years. Three whole years.
They went all out against each other on the stage and clashed at every turn off it.
Then, during the transfer window, GDG replaced most of its coaching and training staff. The coach wanted to bench Yan Xu, the team's best player.
Qiuyue immediately posted to celebrate: [I heard Yan the mutt is going to be warming the substitute's bench. I'll send you a cushion. No need to thank me, @GDGYan.]
But this time, Yan Xu didn't trade public insults with him.
Not until Qiuyue heard Yan Xu was going to retire.
He panicked and, using his status as his team's owner, secretly put in a last-minute blind bid for Yan Xu just before the transfer window closed.
Qiuyue bought his sworn enemy for his own team, thinking that being Yan Xu's captain and boss would give him the upper hand.
Then one day, Qiuyue realized Yan Xu seemed to have a special fondness for matching things with him.
Matching clothes, matching peripherals, the same hotpot restaurant, even matching earrings...
Qiuyue flew into a rage, grabbed Yan Xu by the collar, and demanded, "Are you sick or something? You copycat!" Yan Xu remained calm, abandoning his usual bickering with Qiuyue to confess with a tender look, "Please stop scolding me, Captain. I match things with you because I like you."
Qiuyue's worldview shattered, and he broke down. "You really are sick! Who falls for their sworn enemy? Joke like that again and I'll sell you next season!"
Later, Qiuyue ran into Yan Xu while playing ranked. Yan Xu hunted him down the entire game, and Qiuyue angrily cursed him out on stream. "Damn Yan, you're giving me a heart attack!"
His fans pointed out that his face was red, not because he was having a heart attack, but because he was falling in love.
Qiuyue didn't think much of it, assuming his fans were just teasing him, but he couldn't sleep that night.
In the middle of the night, he jolted upright like a dying man and charged into Yan Xu's room next door.
He threw himself onto Yan Xu and threatened him aggressively: "Hey, Yan the mutt, kiss me, or I'll sell you!"
Yan Xu looked as if he'd been knocked senseless by a pie falling from the sky. Then he turned the tables and lured Qiuyue into bed. "As you command, Captain."
