Monsters and ghosts have returned, and the people are in despair.
The world believed the gods had long since vanished into the river of history. Yet one mysterious being after another has begun walking among mortals again:
The Saintess of the Tides, who stills tsunamis; the White Deer Goddess, who heals the sick and wounded; the Moonlight Divine Messenger, who patrols the night; the Crimson Flame War God, who judges demons and evil spirits.
Er Ya thought her greatest wish was simply for her mother’s hands not to get hurt while doing laundry, and for her family to have a better life.
But when one mysterious, magically empowered outfit after another appeared before her, she gradually realized that some things could only be done by her...
Years later, a myriad of ghosts descended upon the world, plunging it into chaos.
As people knelt before the gods’ arrival,
Er Ya, hiding behind the crowd, looked sheepish. “If I told you... that all those gods came from me changing outfits, would you believe me?”
Off-the-rails Version: Blurb Two
The world has changed. Yin energy is on the rise, and demons and evil spirits run rampant.
Everyone is struggling desperately just to stay alive, while Mai Er Ya alone has bound herself to a strange [Miracle Ghost Dress-Up System].
(System: What ghost? I’m a Dress-Up System: Kids’ Edition!)
While others tremble in terror before evil spirits
She puts on the four-star [Dawn’s Blazing Sun], and divine yang light bursts from her, purifying everything around her.
When mighty cultivators (villagers) are cornered by peerless demon beasts
She drapes herself in the five-star [Rhythm of the Tides], casually summons an endless ocean, and calls down furious thunder from the heavens!
In the eyes of the world, she is a mysterious, all-powerful immortal descended from heaven, a saintess sent to save them.
But only Er Ya knows the truth:
“Wahhh... System, that monster is so scary! Do you have an outfit with a higher defense stat?!”
[Bonus Scene]
One day, ten thousand ghosts surrounded the city, and the heavens and earth changed color.
In the depths of despair, a forest fairy wearing a white veil and [Beneath the Emerald Waters] came striding through the light. With a single move, “Dewdrop’s Blessing,” she saved every injured person in the city.
The cultivators (just villagers) were overwhelmed with gratitude and fell to their knees, begging to know the immortal’s name.
The fairy nervously clutched the little seashell hidden in her sleeve and murmured in her clear, childish voice:
“I... I’m just an eleven-year-old cowherd (fisher girl). I really don’t know how to fight...”
I love stories about ghostly worlds and dress-up systems, but sadly no one’s written a story combining these two elements. If no one else will, I’ll write it myself (doge).
Note: A coming-of-age story with cozy everyday moments.
Theme: Hope does not appear out of nowhere. It is created by those willing to protect others.
