Olive Branches and Night Boats

When Chu Weizhen was five, her mother sent her to live with the Lu family.

She couldn't remember how many times she cried. She only remembered that one older boy would crouch down and wipe away her tears.

Ten years later, transfer student Lu Yuming stood outside the car with a clear umbrella, gazing at her through the rain.

She thought: Why does this new classmate look like he knows me?

Through all the moments Chu Weizhen knew nothing about, the boy's gaze had been like a river she never noticed. From the year she was five, it had flowed around every fork in her life, until it finally reached her on that rainy day when she was sixteen.

A boy's secret love is like a ship sailing through the night for a thousand miles, and she is the only shore he wants to reach.

#About how the boy I called “big brother” when I was five now lives in my house and nags me to take my medicine every day#

#Later, he became my boyfriend#

#Later still, he became my husband#

#I take it all back#
