The main story begins in Season 4
Jiang Jiang is a freshman in the communications department at a university in City B, a Glory newbie currently caught in a wonderfully tense situation: personally, she hasn't even left the newbie village yet, but the atmosphere in her dorm is already at the playoffs stage.
Tiny Herb on her left, Blue Rain on her right, and a die-hard Howling fan diagonally across from her. The three of them trade threats every day and, when necessary, even settle things in person. Peace is barely maintained thanks to Jiang Jiang herself serving as a neutral buffer.
At Xiao Qiu's urging to "try a bite of City B's specialties," Jiang Jiang looks at the screen, where a mysterious Spitfire Mage rides a broom and appears and disappears like a ghost, and nods earnestly.
What a good kitty. What a good kitty.
It's a heartwarming little story about seeing an absolutely adorable cat by the side of the road and thinking, "Guys, I found the most wonderful cat. I think it wants to come home with me."
The serious version:
Jiang Jiang thinks of how she watched stones pile up, one by one, until they became a mountain.
She saw him when he was full of confidence, and when he didn't know what to do.
She saw him make decisions where right and wrong were hard to tell apart. She saw him win, and she saw him lose.
She watched him for a long, long time, until everyone was watching him, golden rain fell, glory crowned him, and the screams filled the arena.
The light reflected off the river shone into the eyes of the person beside her. Her eyes were always bright. Wang Jiexi gazed at her for a long time. She must still have so much left to say, he thought with certainty. I have so much I want to say to her, too.
