In the Great Qian Dynasty, the court has rotted and imperial power is in decline. Aristocratic clans and martial sects join forces to carve up the realm. The court is full of beasts in fine clothes, preaching benevolence and morality while practicing every kind of vice. Everyone is an accomplished actor.
The protagonist, Li Ye, binds himself to the “Great Villainous Official System” and awakens to a path of defying convention and becoming a sage. The System's logic is outrageous: as long as loyal officials curse him and the people revile him, he can collect “villain points” to draw prizes and grow stronger. To power up quickly, Li Ye is forced down a hard-core redemption path: “Bearing a thousand years of infamy while actually saving the world.”
Li Ye is a transmigrator and Vice Minister of Revenue. On the surface, he is an unrivaled corrupt official, greedy and lecherous, throwing the court into chaos. In truth, he is the only person keeping Great Qian alive. His motto: “Good insult. Give me a couple more. I love hearing that.”
Theme: Use the hard logic of industrial civilization to smash the decaying facade of feudal theocracy, and have a satisfying time while you're at it.
