Ora Foley was born into the Foley family, one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight.
For generations, the Foley family had earned renown in the magical world for its potions. Her grandfather was president of the Potions Association, her father was its vice president, and the entire family shone in the field of potion-making.
Except Ora, whose talent for potions was decidedly average. To her, spending hours tending a cauldron and brewing a potion was nowhere near as satisfying as raising her wand and throwing herself into a real fight.
She admired her aunt’s way of charging into battle, so she joined Gryffindor.
What if she wasn’t good at potions herself? She didn’t have to personally carry on the family’s glory.
Ora Foley came up with a brilliant solution: bring a top-notch potions talent into the Foley family.
And so she began searching among Hogwarts students for someone who could carry on the family’s potions legacy.
