A Relationship of Lord and Subject on the Surface

Double rebirth.

The royal house was weak, and heroes vied for supremacy. On the banks of the Han River, the Prince of Yan and the Prince of Liang met for the first time.

In the years that followed, they shared the burdens of war, fighting north and south. Yan Ning became ruler, and the Prince of Liang became his subject. The history books recorded their story as a celebrated tale.

After the realm was unified, however, the Prince of Liang repeatedly plotted rebellion. Yan Ning demoted him and sent him to Hexi, forbidding him from ever returning to the capital.

A year later, the Prince of Liang's rebellion failed, and he was imprisoned.

The estranged ruler and his subject were forced to bind themselves together again. Yan Ning racked his brains to avoid repeating the past.

Liang Baihong, meanwhile, was already so blissed out he had forgotten the world. So it turned out he could get himself a spouse without having to rebel.

Yan Ning was speechless. "You never said you rebelled because you wanted to be empress."

His love was sincere, and so was his rebellion. The ruler and subject were locked in a battle to the death, and all they lacked was one gloriously passionate...
