Because I'm a Beta?

Ji Feng and his wife Tao Xueqing have been married for three years through an arranged match.

She considers herself a good partner.

She's sensible and considerate, never interfering with her wife's private social life. She's smart and polite, supporting her wife's career without ever meddling in her decisions. She's mature and steady, never taking offense when her wife loses her temper for no reason, and always understanding and tolerant...

Aside from being a beta while her wife is an omega, Ji Feng thinks their married life is harmonious and happy.

But then one day, she hears her wife complain, "I just want to divorce her. I really can't stand this marriage anymore."

Those words, "can't stand it," cut deep.

Ji Feng is hurt and baffled.

Then she hears her wife say, "I wish she were an alpha. At least then I'd be happier and wouldn't get so angry."

So that's how it is.

After trying and failing to make her stay, Ji Feng finally decides to agree to the divorce.

Tao Xueqing isn't satisfied with her wife.

She thinks her wife is guilty of plenty of offenses.

First, she's witty and talkative with outsiders but quiet with her. Second, she shows curiosity about other people but no desire to understand her. Third, when Tao Xueqing gets angry, she doesn't know how to soothe her. Fourth, she doesn't understand the signals in an omega's pheromones and is far too restrained...

But lately, her wife has suddenly changed.

She communicates more, takes the initiative to get close, and has even learned to stop holding back.

Tao Xueqing is very pleased, thinking her wife has finally fallen for her.

Then one day, she receives divorce papers from her wife.
